Lyra is searching for her missing father and when she finds a clue that leads her to a Caido she does what she always does – jumps in with both feet. Archer would be annoyed at Lyra if he felt emotions, but for some strange reason he lets her tag along. From there things get very interesting.

Lyra is Kirin’s sister and she’s searching for their missing father just as Kirin was doing in the first book when he teamed up with Ellie. Lyra’s clue leads her to Archer. He’s a Caido - half fallen angel, half human. Caidos keep themselves isolated, but something about Lyra pulls at Archer. As they try to figure out what the heck happened to her father and his brother they grow closer together. But there are complications in dealing with a Caido. Pretty fascinating history is revealed in this story and the mystery is pretty good. While I didn’t like Lyra much at the beginning of the book (because of what she did in the first book) I liked her more as the book went along. Archer is a likeable guy for being a stand offish Caido. He grew on me. All-in-all this an entertaining short read.
